RS125 clutch weirdness

Hi all, not sure how to remedy this, the bike is now running after 7month (bought as a non runner) when you engage any gear and let the clutch out you can feel it begining to bite at around half way out on the clutch, yet theres no real pull, it just sort of slips but is causing really minor engagement, yet it will only fully engage when the lever is totally release, and i mean totally, you have about 1mm of having nothing and then ful engagement at the total release of the clutch lever, tried adjusting the cable but no change, whats the cause or remedy? If i need a new clutch or whatever could someone still explain what is happening to cause this so i understand whats gone wrong along the way as this is surely not normal, clutches slip for sure when there worn but it should still bite and pull and not slip until its fully let out, then it doesnt slip at all, have lifted the whole front end up by pulling the bike backwards while in first gear (with engine off, ie not a wheelie) Any help much appreciated, Iggy

try adjusting the cable at both ends, it sounds like its too tight at the moment, my friend had this problem when we fitted a new cable we over tightened it and it engaged but bearly moved.
