For the last week or so i have been working 6 days a week. And three or four times ive been doing 12 hour shifts volunterily. Now my availabilty has been and always will be. Mon,Tue,Wed,Thur untill 6,Fri and Sat. I have never worked a sunday. Yet my boss has just scheduled me too work 2 sundays in a row. i asked her why id been shifted and she said i need you. So i said i dont work sundays, i dont like working sunday. To which she said Shit happens and that was the end of it. Now ive found out im working next sunday because her boss is in. And in her words she said "i need my best staff in" which i can sort of believe because when i looked at the schedule it looks like it. My next day off is next saturday. And i really feel like they are taking the fucking piss.

Im trying to get promoted their (maccies) and im getting seriously turned off the idea if this is how they are going to treat me. So people, should i go in tomorow or should i fuck them off ( considering im on a final written warning this first one isnt really an option)

Cheerio

Its Capitalism live with it or change jobs, become a job hopper like me I have very little loyalty, though the current place is treating me quite well so I may stick here for a bit (though I'm currently approaching much higher than here pay territory so may still move on).

if your the one of the best at your job then i would work, maybe say that you want double pay or an increased rate.

you make them happy they will make you happy when you need it next.

erm Jack , he works at McD's there is no future there, its a mcjob, I'd probably go look for something else if I were you , as said McD's in my school group was a right of passage most people hated it quit after 6 months and it gave them the drive to do other things, a few of them got stuck and are still working there today.

I dont quite agree with the whole there is no future there, most of the shift managers are on just over 1k a month and 2nd assistants are on more. And its not that hard to get up there. And the whole thing with job hopping is getting into the routine of a new job every couple of months.

I've done the mcdonalds thing, and I really don't see it being a viable future.

I've also been in the situation where they have put me on 10 days in a row, 10 hour shifts every day..

They take the piss because they can, and when you accept it they won't back off.

I remember when my 1st assistant had a very serious thing going on, it was the head of mcdUK can't remember the wankers name, anyway to sum it up my 1st assistant wanted me to drop a university interview because he wanted his best staff in. I just said no.

I can see how you want to like stay loyal to the job for the promotion prospects, but I had been promised the promotion to shift runner for about a year before I left, and next to nothing had surfaced from it..

If I were you I'd phone up sunday (at least 2 hours before you start if possible) and say you have either a stomach virus or the shits. One way or another they cannot have you in by law.

Just because the boss is in shouldn't mean the best staff are in, if it's shit because the staff are shit the boss should be able to see that. I always iterated to my boss that the staff were shit, he always agreed with me.

I know that there /are/ future prospects there, but they come with way to much stress I've seen what its done to people there that I used to really get on with, I honestly don't think its worth it..

No, they'll just ask him to put it in writing and give them 3 months notice of his intention to stop working Sundays...

Grow a pair and say you've made plans. Life comes before work ffs Laughing

Job hopping's great, you can slack as much as you like in a job for 1... maybe 4 months, then find a new one and start fresh Smile easiest life possible.

TBH it's your first job and you think that by always saying yes and helping out it will look good on you and when it comes to promotion time you'll be in a shoe-in. I hate to say it but that's very rarely the case.
Managers/bosses have very short memories and they couldn't care less if you had to miss your mums funeral to help them out on the weekend, in their mind paying you fuck all per hour means they own you and you owe them everything.

It's better that you learn this now before you bend over backwards for years until you realise that no matter how hard or long you work, make a mistake and your the biggest cunt in the world.
