Right, ive got one, i know where the hole is and its smaller than a cowing pin. What i need to know is, how much would a decent garage charge to repair it? Im going this morning, ive pumped it up and it will make it there and back if they are gays...im going to ring first.

Its a really slow puncture so it will be possible for me to make it the 2 - 3 mile...of which half of it is A roads...

Cheers

Good luck.....

Personally would not risk riding 2 -3 miles.
If it gives out there is only one place you are going.

Better to remove wheel and walk/bus/ cadge a lift.

Might get it done for a round £10 But be prepared to be told you need a new tyre..

Don't bother, unless you use some tyre weld and ride up and down your road for ages in straight lines I wouldn't risk it either.

When your front goes flat, you will loose nigh on all of your ability to turn above about 10mph. When this happens you wouldnt be best advised to be riding on an A road.

Even the tyre weld route is risky, you have to be 100% sure that the tyre weld has sealed the hole perfectly and the tyre isn't loosing abnormal amounts of pressure. I spose some places wouldn't touch it with tyre weld either. Not sure how repairs go when you have used it so bear that in mind.

The best route would be to whip the front wheel off and take it to a bike shop on a bus or get a ride off someone.

Cmon the front wheel takes five minutes to remove and it ain't THAT heavy. Remove the discs if you are that weak Wink Will only take a couple minutes more.

Oh, it is tubeless right? I didn't bother looking at what bike you ride.

Well, i pumped it up and rode it to the other shop, the Non-A road one, and i got there with a tyre with a lot of air in it still, took them 2 hours to do it cause they cocked something up the first time, new glue or something....cost me £20, would've been £10 if the wheel was off the bike...but oh well...

Cheers guys Smile

In fairness the garage are always going to charge to remove/refit a wheel to a bike if you don't take just the loose wheel in. Okay £10 may seem a bit steep for whipping the wheel in and out but I think most places would charge about the same.

As an example I had a new tyre fitted and balanced to a loose wheel a few weeks ago by a local motorcycle workshop (the tyre was one I had sourced for the internet). They charged £10 for doing that which took about 10 minutes. I'm not complaining as a lot of places won't touch customers own tyres, but doing the job for any less money wouldn't make it viable.
