RSS Feeds - do you use them?

It's possibly just because I still don't fully 'get' them - but the few times I've tried them, I didn't see any huge advantage to my more conventional news-grazing techniques.

I used them for a bit but didn't find much use for them if I'm honest.

The best use of RSS in my opinion is for quickly updating small areas of a website quickly from anywhere, without much hassle.

I did use them as part of a presentation software in my 6th form before I left, I had to run a big screen that displayed stuff. I used RSS to allow the receptionists to update sections of the screens with ease to tell people about stuff. Plus you can use it in very very basic programs where all they do is type and click save and the RSS program will do the rest for you. Best advantage of that was anyone on the network with the correct permissions could update the screen, be it they were on a laptop working wirelessly or in an office, or in a class room.

So in that sense RSS can be pretty damn handy, but in the use of feeds to get news.. don't see the point myself.

At the moment I am subscribed to 2 RSS feeds. One is the BBC Formula 1 one and the other is for AXXO's film rips.

Saves me having to go to a webpage just to find there is nothing new there Thumbs Up

Mozilla Firefox supports RSS, I have my RSS feeds on the links bar so I just click on them and drop them down while I'm web browsing.

I've never bothered. I tend to spend a lot of time on different computers and there's no point setting RSS feeds up on each one when I could just visit the site I want to check.
