Well me and phil (Shinobi_phoenix_ninja) both took the CBT today and was almost a nirvana like experience Razz .

Got up to the car park where we would start and as the two 125 bikes were unloaded first came the red honda cg125 (centre stand) and then the silver yamaha ybr125 (side and centre stand), you know what phil said straight away, "Shotgun the YBR" and you know what bike he ended up on Laughing Laughing Laughing

Anyway jason (our jedi master for the day) took us over the bike, brakes/suspention e.t.c, after which we got on the bikes (me on the YBR Very Happy ) and began with the finding the biting point excersise by finding the bite on the clutch and then pulling it back in again.

After five or six times of this we were told to place our feet out as far as we could and drive the bike forward until we were on our toes, and then roll back onto our heels again, progressing onto shuffling on a few steps and then stopping.

Downhill/uphill stops were next as we had to stop on the line marked out (harder than it looks first few times) and then onto circuits doing this.

Emergency stop was next followed by clutch control by riding at walking pace and fairing the clutch. lucky i was on the bike at this point with my lid on as my mum drove into the car park (doesnt know about CBT YETRolling Eyes )

Anyway once we were taught how to go slow, we got to learn how to go fast and how to change gears, doing circuits of the car park and moving on to use 3rd gear aswell.

Figure of 8 time! bit wobbly at first but we both ironed out the kinks and got it running smooth. Quick ride back to the bike shop after doing some junction practice for breakfast/lunch.

Then we rode out to do some road practice, this is where it all started going wrong for me and phil Laughing , started fine, all going smooth just got a bolloking a few times by jason for incorrect positioning and leaving indicator on but did well for a while, but then my positioning was all wrong a lot of the time (i was too left) and phil was stalling a lot. Eventually managed to smoth out a lot of kinks in the works but were still left with a few while practising the u turn Confused .

Now.... time for the emergency stop at 30 mph instead of 10....

Que screeching tyres/burnt rubber/blue smoke Laughing

A few goes at this though and our padawanship for the day began drawing to a close as we rode back to the bike shop, me speeding up more than phil (maybe because i've been driving for a year already or not i'm not sure) and head into the shop after 7 hours of fun but exhausting riding Smile

Picked up the certificate left my house keys at the bike shop by accident, and caught a taxi back as i had to get to work.

I only opened the pub 40 mins later than i should have Thumbs Up

Great day great fun and can't wait to do my RAC which phil has in 4 weeks (fingers crissed for him, we both need some major practice.)

Brier Thumbs Up

i took my cbt on a ybr, and i found thus:
ybrs:

throttle: switch - nothing or jerk then barely distinguishable rising of revs
front brake: switch - off or emergency stop, 2 settings.
rear brake - switch - off or locked solid.
noise - quiet thrumming instantly becoming moto - gp rasp at higher revs
comfort - hit a pothole and boiiiiiiing

yuck Laughing

There was one at Elvington this weekend at the drag racing. It managed a standing 1/4 in 21.16 seconds @58mph.

All the best
