I wouldn't worry about it too much tbh.

Bike gearboxes are funny old things, if you really hate a mechanic, leave it in 6th when you drop it off. Laughing

Same happens with me on my R6, and with my friend's K4 GSXR.

If you don't know then how else are you supposed to find out?
