Right! Sorted out the previous bolt woes, and wired in the new headlamp today, thankfully that worked without any complaint, so woot. The ticker for the indies doesn't seem to be working, but could that be because there's only one indicator wired in at the moment?

However, this is the more serious problem at the moment;

Earlier it was starting without complaint, now however, when I push the electric start button, the starter motor does its thing for a few seconds, then a sort of clunky-thud noise can be heard, and nothing happens.

The fuel tap is not set to off, this time! Embarassed Laughing

Anyone got any thoughts?

[edit]

Right, just went down to the garage to try again on a whim, and it worked this time.

The question now is, why wouldn't it have worked before? Is this a problem I should be worried about, or is there some really simple answer? Is it likely to crop up again?

Cheers in advance!

Anyone got any thoughts? Could use some help here!

If the battery were flat, wouldn't the lights & such not work?

All the other electrics seem to be working fine?

The high beam light on the clocks is a bit dim but that's about it..

I would also say it is the battery that is the problem.
The lights will work even when the battery is to low to turn over the
engine.

Paddy.
