So yesterday being a nice bright sunny day I decided to clean my bike and get all the rust of the downpipes and a few other places. Also polished the wheels, washed, clayed and waxed all the body work and cleaned everything else.

Probably the cleanest it's ever looked! Mr. Green

Blue is the fastest colour Mr. Green

I wanna change the headlights soon, hopefully my next paycheck. Don't know what else to change tbh. Thinking

Meh. headlight's first. I like the indicators but they can be doing with changing I suppose. Need to look for ones that would suit the bike well though. Don't want tiny slimline indi's tbh as I think it would look weird on the bike.

And it's still good fun, pulls a lot and still faster than all of my friends cars, except my friend who has a skyline.

If you get a Hornet, make sure you get it in blue as they always have a higher top end Wink

Mr. Green

Looks cool with no mirrors (all bikes do imo) but I don't think I'd want to ride without them. A question of what you're used to I suppose.

The front brake lever perhaps? Laughing

On the front brake lever, tbh I don't think I will. Surprisingly it's actually very comfy to use and I have mroe control of the throttle and it kinda taught me to use the front brake with just two fingers. Works just fine so don't see why spend money on another one in case i drop the bike (or my friends Rolling Eyes ) and it breaks or bends again.

Yeah I want to replace the horn as it's truely fucked. But it works so I'm not complaining.

I'm used to riding with no mirrors considering the mirros on my 125 were stolen (no idea why) and I hate the stock mirrors. I do lots of lifesavers and I've been riding pretty much 2 years without mirrors and I've yet to have any close calls because of the lack of them. If I can find some nice ones then I might. Als, I don't want them to vibrate lots at high speed/revs.

Will do ram-dom Mr. Green shouldn't be too long. No damage to it either. Thumbs Up

And on the cae of the front tyre, yes I do need one soon. But it is more grip in the dry dont'cha know Wink

Funnily enough it's more bold at the edges and quite a bit more tread in the centre of the tyre Thinking Completely the opposite to my rear. Meh.

And thanks for the comments Very Happy

Very nice looking bike!! I've been tempted to get rid of mine for one of those lately. Just one thing though, that front tyre looks fookin massive!

mine are the same, always wear right down on the edges on the front, center at the rear, just how the forces are applied differantly front and rear. unfortunatly i find that the worn down edges on the front tyre and pointy middle makes the bike a bit slap happy when on the gass Neutral

Catch me if you can! Mr. Green

Probably can! Blame the restrictions... Razz

Helmet was only 110 and it's very nice. Comfy, etc. I know Shark are good as I had to test my old one which I got for 85(half price) but this one looks so much cooler. And the visor rocks Razz I apparently look threatening, until I tak the helmet off Mr. Green

Thank you! Hornets are wonderful. You wouldn't regret it. I'm not fussed about the wind hitting me at highish speeds, used to it and kinda enjoy it tbh.

Front tyre is only 16"... the 2000 onwards have a 17" and apparently help stop the front wheel moving about too much.

And damn those forces! Evil or Very Mad

I have a strong desire to get another hornet next. Yours looks like a nice machine.

Twin mivv race cans and a belly pan is all I would have fitted. In black. Mmm...

I cleaned them up yes. But the powdercoating was done already whren I bought the bike. It's what actually convinced me to buy it thinking about it. Rear lights FTW Wink Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I want to get the tail piece and the bellypan resprayed. Maybe even the tank. Kinda hard to see i nthe photos (cept the bellypan) but there's lots of scratches, stone chips and places where there's not paint at all! The mudguard is in tip top condition and so is the hugger. I want to get an extender fender but wish I could have it colour coded instead of it being black...

Need a polishing kit so I can get the swingarm nice and shiny Mr. Green

Thanks for the comment.

Twin race cans on a Hornet @ instigator? Confused

You heard right.

Granted my machine wasn't very tidy, nowhere near as tidy as that but the twin cans did make it. Mr. Green

About £330 I think. Which is a bargain price really, you get a large Y piece connector pipe and 2 cans with brackets. I got mine 2nd hand on ebay for about £180 and sold them on for the same price. Can't seem to find the link where to buy them from though...

Braided hoses? Wavey discs? There's plenty of tarty OR performance items that you could slap on.

Pazzo levers for example Wink

Does look very clean though mate, i like it Thumbs Up

EDIT: Got the model name of your Shark lid mate? Tempted...

Shark s500. Mines a special though. air fusion demon. It even has a gold tooth Mr. Green

Pzo levers are too expensive Razz Why pay over 30 quid when you can make your own.

I do want braided hoses actually... wavey discs are overrated.

Performance? I'm restricte to 33bhp Sad No point unless it's braided hoses or suspension really...

There's a lot more you can do to uprate the brakes then mate.

New master cylinder from Brembo, some funky pads. You could even try something ridiculous like bodging some GSXR1000 6 pots on the front!

New fork internals or even getting the rear shock and front forks set up for your weight.

As for pazzo levers, why pay over £30? Cuz they're teh sex Laughing

Cheers mate will look up the lid now Thumbs Up

Yeah but ll that costs MONEY which I don't have. Hell I'm lucky if I get payed 6 quid an hour! Most of it goes towards petrol to get to/from college and other places!

Would like too though.

Pazzo levers would be last on my list Razz Clearly just for looks.

And it's just Air Demon, not Air fusion demon. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Thanks on all the comments
