Just throwing an idea out there, anyone know of any places that do one way bike rental from mexico to the US?

Im thinking either a big harley or sensible and comfortable (for pillions) tourer like a  pan euro/goldwing for a journey starting in say Cancun, Mexico, going up through mexico west coast of the USA and into Canada cutting east across before decending back down into somewhere like new york on the east coast of the USA and if a rental bike leaving it there and flying home...

Is that possible? and im thinking of say a month or more, would it be a better idea buying a bike/shipping it out there or buying one out there...

As i say just an idea at this stage, wondering if anyone could shed some light on some of my questions... Cheers

Try Harley. Just read Mtorcycle Sport and Liesure magazine (last months) and a couple had hired a Harley - seems almost all dealers do rental. Not sure about one way, but try emailing US Harley and asking...

doesn't the US have virtually non existant MOT laws (varying from state to state) , as said you could buy a shitter and to the Pan America on that , might cost you less than bike rental.

Google it mate. There is loads of places that do one way rental for harleys. However, your biggest problem will be your age (you're not 25 are you?) I think Robby mentioned some place the other week about a company that will rent to 21 year olds but only specific bikes. Thumbs Down Sad I am waiting till I'm 25 to do a Route 66 job.

If Mexico wasn't involved, I think you could do it (at a premium). One-way across countries, starting in a country that most American hire companies won't even let you take a vehicle to, sounds a bit unrealistic tbh.

I believe someone on visordown had a US dealer buy him a decent bike fairly cheaply, and help sort out insurance, as a more cost effective way of doing things.

I had a little look before i posted and found a couple of dealerships, but none mention if you can leave the country legally on the bikes...

As i say it was just a thought, something i would like to do one day, I guess buying something there would be best... anyways cheers
