Right then, as no one else is gonna say anything yet I might as well start the review ball rolling!

We need a standard format for review, for which i suggest the following

-----------------------

Product name - Manafacture - Price (£)

Breif review (if email is html, then can have picture included in it)

mark out of ten for function
mark out of ten for style
mark out of ten for value
overall out of 10 mark

Relevant links, eg, online shop selling it, or manafacture site

Your name, and an email address

----------------------------

We need to agree a format for doing this. Feedback/ comments needed so we can get the best possible!

Next is the newsletter itself.

I suggest this is an HTML email, so we can have pictures etc etc. Each one will need to be spell checked, and proof read, not just skim read!

Again, we need a format, for which to get us started I suggest:

------------------

Title/ name (maybe logo)
URL - E-Mail

Breif editors note

Contents: (all linked down the page)

News
Reviews
Events
Meets
Links
Blah
Blah
How to submit content

Then have all the sections.

Final word.

Unsubscribe info

-------------------------

A standard format will need to be agreed for all sections, such as event write ups, and bike meets.

I suggest that we decided what sections will be regular, such as meets, links, reviews, and news. Then we need each one of those sections to have an editor. All submissions for each section to be sent to that person by say midday tuesday. he/ she then checks the submissions, and then sends then on to the editor. They then simply put the whole thing together from the section submissions. It is then sent to all the editors for proof reading by midday on thursday, and is sent out midday on friday.

I suggest we go for fortnightly at the moment. The "how to submit content would be best done as a web page. The entire submissions bit could be done as a web page, or left to indivual editors to do how they see fit/ best.

Right... feedback/ agreement/ changes needed please people Very Happy

I think that a dedicated "Newsletter" forum would be better...'cos a lot of ppl, especially guests, may not bother looking in the Feedback/Suggestions forum, and hence not be aware of the existence of the newsletter...

Just a thought...

Eerr.... Stephen... I think most of that stuff has allready been decided in other threads Confused

A lot of those things we aren't really considering implementing at the moment.

There's a submission page on tin's website for submitting articles, see the relevant thread for details. Seeing that there's so far 4 reviews of stuff on it and people have had a fair bit of time, there seems to be little point us sorting out all sorts of procedures, in no one else writes anything.

Erm, as far as I'm concerned the BCFN is still alive, but I personally have been feckin' busy for the past couple of weeks...hopefully from next week we can have some layout ideas done. I don't mind thowing a prototype together, which can then be scrutinised etc...but not 'til the weekend at the earliest Confused
