...the obsession for clothes and shoe shopping?

We, or rather she, has more clothes than can fit in the wardrobes, drawers & cupboards and more shoes than she could possibly wear in a year (or so it feels).

Is it just fashion victim or am I living with a hoarder as well Rolling Eyes

Ta Thumbs Up

Women find the process of shopping therapeutic, in much the same way that you or I fix or ride motorcycles.

Thusly, if you tell her to stop shopping, she might tell you to get rid of the bike. And that wouldn't be acceptable now would it?

May I reccomend sorting her out an ebay account so she can sell the surplus clothes and shoes, and then she can continue her therapy in peace.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I've been asking friends this for years and have had no joy in understanding their reasons as yet. Part of me is glad though... if I understood the allure I might get dragged into it and that would be bad and wrong Shocked

Hunter / Gatherer instincts?

Men were hunters. Hunting is replaced by sport.
Women were gatherers. Gathering is replaced by shopping.

Shoes and handbags are to women as air-guns and RC cars are to us. Cool

i cant get my head round this shoes and handbag business, pair for work, bike boots and trainers and flip flops is good enough for me, ive got one handbag for work and a combat stye shoulder bag for everything else, I hate shopping unless its bike stuff, you can fit a clean pair of knickers, a toothbrush lippy and mascara and deoderant into the pockets of a bike jacket for rallies or overnight partying etc

Not quite, but I do have more air-guns than my wife has handbags or shoes. I'm a toy whore.

I thought the shopping/looking nice thing was a genetic throw back to when in order to survive wimminfolk had to attract the strongest male for protection and food etc.

Obviously this is now an outdated concept (before I get karma raped... Shocked )

Last time I went shopping with a female it was my mother (sad? possibly.) She was buying me some bike gear, on the one hand I was (obviously) grateful that she was buying it but on the other, her insisting that I try on every single jacket in the shop was a little tiresome.

The idea that wearing a branded Harley Davidson Leather studded jacket wouldn't really fit with my CLR125 just wasn't sinking in... Laughing

That is all. Thumbs Up

Bollocks to that.

Every bloke here most probably has more bike gear that he can wear at one time. A few pair of a boots a couple of jackets a few lids and some pairs of gloves.

We are just as bad when it comes to some things.

On the side I have to many clothes over 9 coats/jackets and like 12 pairs of shoes and boots. Laughing

Bollocks to that.

I have a leather jacket that I also use as a coat, one pair of gloves (though I'm thinking of getting another for when I need to ride while they're wet) one helmet and 2 pairs of boots - one "proper" pair, and some steelies I wear for work.
