Did anyone else hear about this??

"The Infinity Motorcycles group is currently up for sale, with stores closed for stock checking.

The chain, which has 12 stores across the country, has "temporarily frozen it's business activities as the current management team attempts to buy out the chain," said a company spokesman.

We'll have more updates on this story as they happen"

No did not hear about that, I am shocked, they are always busy...I live near the HQ store, I did think they over cooked it on GSXRs this season though!

Still shocked though.

Just because they are being bought does not necessarily mean they are doing poorly. It may be that the current owners simply want out. An MBO like this generally suggests that the current directors/senior management consider that the business is/can be profitable and a success, and is not always a bad thing. Doesn't mean they are going out of business. If they are in the stage of closing stores to verify stock, and hence the value of teh company as at the current date, it would suggest the deal is very close to completion.

Just having a look at their accounts, and the last ones they filed are for year to October 2005, which made a loss of £250k. they shoudl have filed the accounts for year to Oct 06 three months ago now, which woudl suggest to me that they are being delayed for some reason - most likely the deal rumbling on.

I wouldn't expect huge levels of store closures tbh, although there may be some rationalisation after completion.

So that's another brand / chain for M&P / Busters / MPS / The Fast One to buy then?

Nope, read it again, it says that the current management are to but the business, not an external company. On that basis, the Infinity brand will remain.

Not sure. From what I have read elsewhere the individual stores management are talking of buying out the individual stores, rather than the whole chain going as one.

They are currently in receivership apparently.

Doesn't surprise me the mcn not getting it right - I understand they have a history of it - seem to remember they were set up by U.K.RM years back and fell for a made up story Mr. Green

So does anyone know exactly what is being sold then as I am a little confused now to what is being sold... Confused

Do you know if it is the company, chain, stores or the lot, as there are conflicting points on the forum, or does nobody actually know what is being sold?
