Sad

Been there, Crying or Very sad many, many times.

All I need to say is that I love my bike - even if it is 27 and italian (it's not the bikes fault - it had been stood for 10 years) Rolling Eyes
Ha ha, you live and learn (or not as the case may be!)

Ok, it needs a new piston and rebore.

Why does it need a new crank, seals and gearbox though?

Depends how much crap has fallen into the bottom end. Some people would say swill some diesel around in there, and flush it out.

Others would say split the cases and give it a good clean.

Personally I'd be tempted to just give it a new piston and rebore, and see what happens.

All depends I think. I ran a two stroke as a main bike every day for a couple of years.

I think it's more their choice of 2 stroke.

MZs for all!

Oh aye, absolutely. But what youngsters are willing to pick an MZ as a first bike. Laughing Thumbs Up to them if they do of course.

Ok, I added the yellow bits, the renthal bars, and the gaffer tape on the seat.

But alas, an MZ was my first bike.

I had a small amount fall in, cleaned out as much as was possible, then just flushed the whole thing with oil. No problems over 10,000 miles later.

could find another engine but you be looking @ £150+. At least you'd know your engine has a fresh topend though if you rebuilt yours.

what happened to the pics and how fast was you going? Im guessing a ring snapped?

Looks like what happened to my sherco 125 trials , Big end bearing went and then all the pieces when past the piston and up towards the head.

Result = bike needs a new re bore, £50 , new piston £40 ,new rings £30 , new big end bearing £150 and a new head £70.
Needless to say I won't ever be sorting this engine out.
I had already spent £500 on a engine re build due to a failing water pump seal 6 hours before the main bearing went , didn't replace it at the time as it is really dear as it comes on the crank.
