This is a bit weird spilling ur thoughts on an internet site but i'm fed up with thinking.

Basically i have recently moved to uni and left my gf behind, we are still together and i've seen twice since i was here.

Since i got here though the gf and i have been arguing a lot, mainly down to my lack of contact etc and she says she doesn't feel loved anymore. I do love her dearly but i am so busy here all the time i just don't seem to have time and so i keep thinking i want to be on my own. on the flipside we've been together nearly 2 years and as she said it'd be a shame to waste that now, but is it ever a good time?

It all came to a head the other night and we had a long talk about things and both got upset, but decided to try to make it work. I just can't get this niggling feeling out of my head that i want to do my own thing and just worry about myself but i'm concerned that i could be throwing away something very good for me. Plus i can't bear the thought of her upset as it really gets to me i hate it.

Any ideas? No suggestions of punching her tits or doin her up the gary tho Rolling Eyes

2 years is nothing in the grand scale of things....

She wants you to be around all the time, you can't provide this ,

solutions?

get her to move nearby if poss

Or call it a day since you can't provide what she wants and she isn't secure and or content with something long distance

remember ALWAYS look at the bigger picture , and that there are plenty of fish.

I'm not sure this is what she is wanting, she's just wanting more contact...

If you love her dearly as you say can't you get in contact more? I moved away from where my bf lived for work, and we would phone each other every night for a chat - did not have to be a long conversation, just a chat. It was nice to always have that. If there was a reason one or other of us couldn't call that wasn't a big deal, but the general thing was a call at the end of the day. He's just moved through to Glasgow to live with me, so after 1.5 years of evening conversations by phone we can now have them in person - much better!

If continuing with it all is what you both feel is right, you won't have to think about it too much.
You'd be confortable knowing it's worth it and maybe discuss ways of making it work.
How long is the course and how far away are you?
Could she relocate and do you both want this.

If you see this as near impossible, too tricky, not worth the effort, then maybe it is time to call it a day. Thumbs Up

Uni relationships can be a strain, and that's coming from someone studying less than 100 miles from home, so I still see my GF every week or two, but if you get through this then your relationship will be a lot stronger. Me and the missus talk most nights on the phone, even if it's just to say goodnight, which definitely eases the strain.

Bottom line: if you love her it's worth trying to keep it together, but if you can't see yourself spending the rest of your life with her it might be better for both of you to end it now so you can both move on and enjoy yourselves.
