Hi,

I have been quoted £275 +vat, for a service/revalveould including a new spring to suit your weight ,oil, seals and damping mods.

Does this sounds like a fair price?

It is for an 03 zx636, is there anything I can do for the suspension setup that would be a cheaper option making it a little bit more rideable.?

Thanks

Jon

Have a chat with the guys at the mcnninja forum, there is a regular on there who works in the trade and should give you sound advice.

Yes, to me £323 sounds a lot for a shock re-work. Especially when Nitron for example do a brand new shock for £340 and look to be beautifully made.

Sure your still going to need it setting up, but it's worth considering.

The B model 636's were notoriously over sprung from the factory.

He now stays in Australia though.

As for the price, it sounds steep to me. I'd rather buy a decent shock for that sort of money at least it will hold some value if you decide to sell.

Ditto the above, you should be able to get it re-built for about 80 quid, + the setting up to your weight it should probably still come in at under 200.

If you can't find anywhere cheaper, buy a new shock! Thumbs Up
