Hello,

My nephew got as a Yamaha Aerox 100 51 plate Well looked after not a scratch on it... Until... A guy reversed over it in a van. Lucky he wasnt on it.

He bought it for 1000 second hand with only 200 miles on clock 2 years ago, but when he renewed the insurance he put a value on it for 400... not sure why... now the bike is scuffed everywhere and looks a mess. But still drives etc. Just scratched and snapped panels. Hes now fearing that the panels and scuffs will be well over 400... He smashed just 4 panels in a crash about a year ago but got them replaced for under 500... now all are in a mess. With the value price at 400 and the damage more will the insurance write this bike off?

They ought to give him book value.

Some insurance companies have stopped asking for the value on quotes as the customer isn't qualified to make an expert assesment.
