Since one of my bikes fell forward off the side stand when on a slope on my drive I have got into the habit of leaving the bike in gear when I park the bike on a slope of any kind.

Since I'm gonna leave it in gear and I've started just kicking the side stand down when i come to a stop (with the clutch in) and this stops the bike. Is this bad - likely to damage anything by doing this rather than stopping it with the key?

It will be fine so long as you change the name of the tread to say SIDE
stand. Laughing

No problem with it except that one day you might walk off leaving the key in the ignition.

yeh, i do it all the time as i always leave my bike in gear whenever i park up

beleive it or not it once stopped a load of pikeys from nicking it when i was at school, as when they tried to wheel it off it didn't move, and they were too f***ing stupid to realise it was because it was in gear

BUT i have also left the keys in the ignition a couple of times Rolling Eyes

I always leave my bike in gear for that very reason, if they can get through the disc lock and alarm that is.
