Hi all. I was recently on the road at a traffic light and my scooter just cut out. I couldnt start it as the battery was dead, so therefore I had to kick start it in the middle of the road lol. Then i drove off and then whilst I was driving I realised that the speedometer and the mile counter was not workin at all. The speedometer stayed at 0mph and the mile counter stayed at 1,500 odd. Is there any common problems that cause this? Or is it just a fuse that is gone or something?

Cheers Aran.

Is the speedo and odometer run from a cable? If so the cable may have snapped or the drive on the wheel may be broken. Either way its a cheap and easy repair. Thumbs Up

Yes I think it is run by a cable. I will check if it is broken. Also how do I know if the bit on the wheel is broken? If none of them are not what else could it be?

Ok i disconnected the top part and reconnected it again. I did the same with the bottom part near the wheel, but i pulled on the wire until it came out. The picture below shows the cable.

By the looks of it I would say that it has broken off. Am i right? It should be longer that this right?

I will need to buy another one. Are all cables the same or are there different ones with different attatchments?
