hi guys, i was told that using a nylon cutting board as a chain guide is a good way to stop the chain eating your swinger when the rubber one has died and you cant find any anywhere.
would you suggest i dont do this? or give it a try?
whats your views? has anyone done this?

I've never done it,but it does sound like a good idea as long as the ends were tapered.

Nylon works fine and tougher than the std rubber. It's easy to cut drill and machine to size but will show up the dirt a lot more!!

so the american was onto a good thing then? its for my FZR the chain rubbers are discontinued for my model, i dunno if one off a R6 or the likes with a braced swinger will fit, he said try a nylon cutting board and it go me thinking, cheaper and more durable.
so go for it or try an get a like for like fit?

I'm confident that that idea should work well. Nylon is inherantly self-lubricating and pretty hard wearing. The side chain guide on my KLE is made of a similar material.
