Wii Regions

Small amount of help needed on Wii compatibility...if I buy one in the UK, to work on a PAL TV, will it work on any other region - specifically Oz, where we will be going soon. The missus is desperate for a Wii (ho ho), but I don't want to shell out if I can't take it with us.

I know that back in the day with the SNES (yes, that far back!) there were issues with using US/Jap import units in the UK, so is thsi still a problem, or not?

Australia is PAL, so should work fine, and any games you buy over there will work on a UK Wii. If you go to an NTSC area most modern TVs should handle PAL as well, but games bought there won't work.
