Hi

Will try and remember tomorrow night to go into the loft (where all the old bike mags live).

All the best

Hi

Bad news I am afraid. I cannot find that issue. I think it is the March 1989 one, and I cannot find it, but it must be around somewhere.

What I did find is an issue from December 1991 of PB covering an NSR/RK fitted with a big bore kit.

The NSR was done by Stan Stephens. Fitted with the Malossi 180cc kit, 30mm carb and silencer (and I presume derestricted expansion chamber), with a 14 tooth front sprocket. Done like this the bike managed 29.4bhp at 9700rpm.

Performance was:-
Max speed (into wind) prone = 89mph
Max speed (into wind) upright = 82mph

Max speed (with wind) prone = 103.5mph
Max speed (with wind) upright = 93mph

Standing 1/4 = 15.27 seconds @ 87mph
Fuel consumption best / average / worst = 60mpg / 50mpg / 44mpg

Looks like in still weather it would manage around 95mph true top speed

Found another mag with a 125 test. For a restricted NS125R / NSR125R here is the tested performace, and the full power Aprilia Futura in the same test:-

NS125R
Top speed = 71mph prone / 67.5mph upright
Standing quarter = 19.85 seconds

NSR125R
Top speed = 72mph prone / 66.5mph upright
Standing quarter = 20.14 seconds

Aprilia Futura
Top speed = 98.5mph prone / 86.5mph upright
Standing quarter = 15.76 seconds

All the best

Keith
