I've seen a few advertised, and was thinking of swapping my RXS100 for one as a town/hack bike if I could get a cheapie. Strangely it would actually work out cheaper on the insurance for me to do so Confused

I absolutely love the looks (wouldn't look out of place in the 60s), but I wondered how they ride? How would the performance compare to the RXS?

Thanks Very Happy

You'd get the same top speed, lower acceleration, all in a stodgier package. It does look better though Thumbs Up

My dad had one...

Look at the used bike guide description, they are pretty shit I'm afraid, my dad was lucky that it never went wrong but its like a 125 without any redeeming features of being more powerfull.

I don't think its any coincidence it was the last bike he ever owned.

I'm not really bothered about the top speed tbh, but would it be any better at going up hills than say a CG125?

I've seen the UBG review but is there a bike which they don't think is shite? Laughing

They do look so dead sexy Wink

As I recall, the biggest problem with those is that they have a pressed-steel frame which rots from the inside out.

I had a CD185T Benly as my first proper bike after a moped and loved it.

Did Grimsby->Earls Court>watch concert->back to Grimsby in the same day a few times.

Very comfy bikes. Would cruise at about 70ish.

Downsides were 6 volt electrics (is the CD200 12V?) and tubed tyres.

Mine was bought brand new and never had any problems with it and would buy another now if I could find one in good nick as they're a nice low ride height - ideal for winter riding on snow.

I have an immense amount of respect for the Benly 200. Mate of mine in Kent used to run one and he went all over the UK to rallies and events, not a small chap and all his camping gear on board as well.

Even carried the pair of us from Birmingham to Reading on one memorable trip Laughing
