 |
|
I was tempted to get the HID's the ebay china guys as well, and i wasn't inclined to spend 100 quid for the stuff that they have on HID's 4 U, so i decided to spend 20 quid on Philips Power Xtreme. They make a marked difference compared to my normal bulbs. I'm sorry if the photo looks a smidge shit cos it's on my fone cam, but it certainly IS whiter and brighter than the OEM.

I didn't have the time to change over to standard and take pics because it's simply too cold and the fact that i sucked the old bulb like a dummy for random fun. Still, i reckon it's the best 20 quid i invested in a bike and i still have one spare bulb! It's MOT legal and e-approved so i'd get no problems with plod. Only problem was that since the crash, my nosecone is snapped in a few places so the lugs which the headlight have snapped off causing the beam to be projected higher than expected as well as flickering - something i'll sort out once my fairings get delivered. The blue-ish hue is not from the bulb itself but from the LED sidelight (ice white) - the headlight itself i think is about a 4300k colour temperature and you can clearly see that it's not yellow! (unlike the colour of my skin lol)
Ebay stock the Philips Xtreme power for 20 quid delivered in H4 and H7 fittings as well as the Osram Nightbreakers for the same price although RRP is higher for the Philips. The Xterme Powers are meant to be rated at +80% whilst Osrams are +90%. Both produce much whiter light and are rated at the standard 55W/60W.
You can literally SEE the difference and definitely a good upgrade for the winter! ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

Talking about toilet and laptop, i just did it whilst i was writing this up! So, going on BCF whilst taking a shit alleviates all unnecessary forms of boredom and is thusly a productive means of communicating. ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

I went for the nightbreakers from www.autobulbsonline.co.uk.
£20.50 delivered next day. 2 minutes to fit and they made a big difference over the standard. |

Itchy, you got any night pics of the night breaker? I'm assuming it's as White as the Xtreme powers (err that doesn't read too well does it! - no racism intended)? I had philips vision plus on my 250 and they were wicked - same market category as the osram silverstars. I went for the philips because they were Auto Express' product of the year.
2 mins to fit yes, compare that to the unneccessary hassle of the chinese ebay kits which take 30mins - 1 hr to fit properly and even then you won't be certain that it's right- not exactly plug and play eh! Also i didn't think the Osram nightbreakers were going to be safe at all. Would be funny mind since the packaging shows two fists coming out of the headlights. I'm not particularly keen into fisting and i don't particularly want to blap a fellow biker in the back of his head with the main beams!

You see what i'm trying to get! lol![/list] ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

i brought `xenon` bulbs for mine & there whiter but not THAT much brighter TBH
& bes thing about HID kits, is once you got one, you change it over from vehicle to vehicle (just change bulbs over ) ____________________ GSXR750
