Coming down newtown road going up to bedworth, slowed down to 25 mph incase the lights changed at the junction, lights stayed green so went through, there was a car sitting on the other side, who wanted to turn across my bit of road and up the road at the junction.

And they did. I had no more than 2 car lengths to stop, which i just about managed. i had to brake REALLY hard, the front end was going skits, left, right, left, right, so i released and reapplied, while stepping on the back brake as hard as i could. and as i was braking i envisaged going straight into the passenger door, and an emerancy crew having to pull me from the car door i would be embedded into.

Meanwhile, the car continues with its turn across my lane, as if i was never there. I stopped, shouted some random stuff at the car, which casually carried on up the road like nothing had happened. i pulled into a local car garage to gather myself, accompanied by a woman who saw everything and asked if i was ok and said she thought it was a bloke who made the turn. said i was lucky not to have colided or binned the bike. She was a rider herself, i said thanks for stopping then did a quick sweep of the area for any blokes at the roadside shaken up, found no-one.

What the fuck were they thinking? did they think they could make the turn before i got there? they MUST have seen me!.

Shame it was night time, i couldnt see anything but headlight, which i could not assosiate with any model of car.

My biggest regret? not following the car all the way home sneakinly, then removing all windows and wing mirrors at a later date, or maybe i should be doing it right now.

It really shook me up and i didnt know what to do when stopped. I REALLY wish i had followed them and caused them some damage.

I just dont get WHY they made the turn. i was CLEARLY visable, my headlight was on, my jacket has a huge reflective strip on it, and i was pretty much in the direct view of the driver. what the fuck posessed them i will never know! i REALLY thought i was going straight into the side of that car.

Here is a pic of the junction.

What the fuck do we have to do to stop stupid mother fuckers from doing this! its fucking rediculous and im outraged!

Again thanks to the biker woman who stopped in her car.

That is a top diagram!!!

Very Happy

Same thing happened to me the other day (ish) only i nearly took out a bus queue. Shocked

Unless they start putting cameras on every road - you always have to be mindful!

I assume everyone will cut me up/pull across my path so that way - when they do, it's no suprise.

Glad you stayed upright though. Cool

I do expect people to pull out on me at junctions, but when your 2 car lengths from someone, and they turn across you...what the fuck are they blind or something!!!!!!!!!!!

Some people amaze me. Its not like they rolled up to the junction and chucked it round the corner. The car was stationary, and turned across my lane!

Ive had it with some people. Ive had lots of shit from car drivers the past week, not checking mirrors, cutting me up etc. I can semi deal with them by catchin up and waving a few fingers, but turning across a junction....what the fuck!

im sorry, im really annoyed!

I really regret not following them an doing some damage to them...teach them not to do it again! shame i didnt have the nerves to do it at the time!

and im mythed how i kept it upright....i was braking super hard, harder than ive ever broke before. If i was on the ybr i probably would have pulled a cracker of a stoppie. I was really surprised when i stopped and i saw the car just about get out the way in time. IM even more mythed they casually drove on!

I feel like that sometimes.

When i go into work, i have to drive through Stamford Hill N16 - with all it's shitty drivers. I've seen so many accidents - i never dare to go faster than 30 - so maybe that's a blessing. Confused

I hear you, I had a couple of near misses today myself, both on roundabouts of all places, viva la france? Shocked

The first occasion on the St Beadeux A38 junction was a lorry pulling out far enough without seeing me as I was coming round, he went forwards enough to block my path and exit forcing me to swerve into the inside and do laps whilst he got clear, at least he looked rather sheepish whilst I was buzzing round the small roundabout waving my fist and glaring at him the entire time.

The second case was a similar deal, just with a little old lady in a much smaller car further down the A38 at the Torpoint/Liskard/Plymouth roundabout, she pulled out from the torpoint exit as I was coming round and pushed almost side on into me, this time I just blasted clear and cut infront of her. No doubt she was muttering something about dangerous bikers these days Rolling Eyes

This is probably why I LIKE absolute grid locked traffic,

Cars don't move much and you can filter quite safely between them and use cars as sheilds (ie if there is lots of traffic and you are filtering against it nobody is going to right turn INTO it are they? well some nuts sometimes do but tis rare.

Having said that, i was knocked off by a guy IN stationary traffic who decided to do a u-turn as i was filtering alongside him.

I never really find myself getting angry in those sort of situations, my job preps me well for dealing with 'idiots' so to speak so I usually just point and stare straight at them in those situations. If I think they are likely to see it, my other favorite is to point and gesture at my mirrors then back at them as well. As gratifying as it maybe, I honestly don't see the point in gesturing profanity at them in these cases as the potential to escalate the situation is always there, if its really called for, just take off a mirror and get out of thre.

In my case, the damage which occurs to their vehicle is directly proportional to how much poo emerged from my bottom during the incident.

Ok, this is a warning of what people do.

Sat at lights, lights go green, I can go wherever I want and nothing will stop me. *that bloke jumped the light!* My light was green? how dare he... bla bla bla.

People assume that a green light means go and that they have exclusive rights to go anywhere, even crossing oncoming traffic.

The other trick people pull is not looking at the traffic lights and going when the car next to them goes. Great when there is a filter (right/left turn only) lane at a junction.

You should always treat a green light as a give way, and give yourself time to react to someone who is driving with his head up his bottom.

Glad your in one piece Cool

ecactly my thought half lyfe, i was expecting the lights to change, hence i slowed, down, light stayed green so i proceeded through. Had i been doing 30mph like i would normally if i seen the lights go green 50 metres away, and this wanker turned into me, i definately would not have gotten off. And i bet the driver would still have carried on as if nothing had happened, so id have a fucked bike, wouldnt be able to ride to follow them and no one to claim from, no lid or gear to use, no bike, only had the gpz 3 weeks, id basically be shafted.
