The jacket and helmet?

50 quid for a jacket and helmet? Really? Was it an "Evel Knievel plastic helmet and spangly jumpsuit starter pack" from Woolworths?

Really though, i'd spend at least £100 on a helmet, a really cheap lid is a horrible thing to use. And sorry to hear this guy has messed you around.

Stop picking on the kid, I first rode in a cheap open face and an army navy stores combat jacket.
I still dress badly.

But make sure it's a 'dainese ' or 'Aplinestars' one, then you'll have as much protection as a lot of the people that buy stuff purely on the name and price tag.

You can get good protection for not much.
You can get crappy protection for lots.

The trick is to get good protection regardless of the price.

As far as the OT goes; you'll still need a helmet and jacket whatever bike you get.
If you did buy purely on looks, then you probably did waste your money regardless of whether you got this bike or not.

Perhaps leave it a day or two for them to explain themselves; there's lots of very reasonable explanations.

Maybe his Grandmothers goldfish died and he was organising the cremation of the little fella, Which would of course mean he wouldn't be interested in selling the bike on Sunday.

But seriously, Maybe he does have a genuine reason, If you had of named him, Some people might have slagged him and given him a bad name.

Pretty stupid of you posting this IMO, I would have given it a few days.

No need to name and shame, i can type for myself ty Wink

Heres my side of the story for anyone interested:

around a month ago i get a text off 123go asking general details about the bike etc and then would i take 750. When i recieved this i was in the middle of a deal with a different bloke so i replied answering his questions and saying that i was in the middle of a deal with someone else and id let him know if its still for sale or not.

Fast forward to a a week and a bit ago, bloke pulls out from the deal (Fair enough i thought) so i text 123go explaining the situation and explained id take 800 for the bike (150 off the asking price).

So more questions asked and more pictures sent we start to arrange the details etc. After some 'bartering' if you can call it that, i say il happily let it go for 750 with a full tank of petrol and he collects. All of this seemed fine for the night.

Get to the next morning and we talk again and he starts to say il give you 725 if you deliver it with a full tank of petrol and give me your gear. Not a chance was the answer, not on the basis of delivering it, but my gear. All frank thomas stuff which yeah isnt the most expensive stuff in the world its worth around 250. I also explain the fact you should get your own gear that fits you etc.

So after a few more nights we talk again and we settle on 730 delivered with half a tank of petrol and no gear etc. Delivery was areed for sunday and it was explained i work weekends (poor student and all) so it may be late when it does get delivered, all this was fine with both parties.

I then get a call later that night from a mate from this forum, m_hill saying he's sold his bike too also on here (Kindly highlited by Shaggy DA) which is fair enough i think. As we get talking more we both realise its to the same bloke/kid. He was getting his collected for 850 at the end of the month. Now at this point im fairly confuesed/pissed as how I see it is 123go was willing to let me ride to his house 2 hours away for him to say it wasnt for him or some bs excuse. I text him telling him how I felt and that the deal was obviously off to which i got no reply, fair enough and thought nothing of it. Roll on sunday and im at work (finish at 8) Checked my phone when leaving and did have a number of missed calls from a withheld number which i now know was 123go.

P.S Dont buy gear based on the colour of the bike, buy it because it fits well and it safe.

Done your CBT yet?
