My first bike the ZXR was found on the motorcycles for sale section of the MCN website as couldn't be arsed at traveling or waiting for an auction to finish on eBay.

The FZR was found on eBay, I only looked as it was a BIN for £600 so worth a shot and the least said about it the better. Again like the ZXR the FZR was flogged on eBay within 2 hours!

The monkey was bought from an internet site, no test ride, no look just credit card details and a week later it was here. I did order a black one and they sent red, but fair play it has been a fun little bike.

The ZX7-R was found by chance on autotrader as all the ones on eBay were to far away or looked no where as good as this one Wink

Word of mouth, passed down as an heirloom, a skip, a free ad paper or just parked on the side of a road, where did you find your bike?

I found my RVF at a local dealers while browsing at bikes in an innocent manner, with no intention of buying. Went home, told my old man I'd spotted a mint Honda RVF 400, he went to look at it and decided to buy, as he thought it would be an ideal bike for me after passing my test and also a little hoolie machine for him. Quite nice of him I must say...

I bought my cagiva mito brand new, also from a dealer. I had wanted either an aprilia rs125 or the mito, saved for a few years and decided to go for the mito. Bit stupid buying brand new but meh...

Hey,

Found my first GPZ305 in the back of a guys garden. It had been there that long the hedge had grown around it! I kid you not. The bloke gave us it for nothing and i have to say it was a very reliable bike for 2 years, until it simply started dropping to bits!

Cheers,
Shaun.

Gilera Coguar (125)... found on eBay (wasn't even really looking to buy a bike at that point!) Went to veiw it with some cash, well under what it would go for if the auction had continued, and matey went for the money...

Honda CX500... saw it on ebay, knew what the guys reserve was, bidded under the reserve but was the highest bidder... messaged the guy saying "I'm still interested, I've got £*** in cash (my bid price), I've got a van, I can collect tomorrow..." And the guy went for it, on the basis that it would be out of his way quick, collection was no problem, and I had a wad of notes! I payed £5 less for it than he had about 6/7 months before! (he bought it as a temp bike)

I hired a Vespa when I was in Thailand and decided I'd get one to commute on and for a little fun over the summer when I got back.
I went in an internet cafe and found my one for sale at a bargain price on the Biketrader website.
Not wanting to miss out I rang the guy up, I think he thought it was a bit of a wind up when I said I was in Thailand, but I went round and picked it up a week later when I got back.

The FZR I was looking on ebay for something a bit faster to commute on, was after a 500 twin but ended up buying the FZR, I never actually use it to commute on, I kept the Vespa and still use that but the FZR is good fun at the weekends Smile

All three of my bikes were found off Autotrader. 2x private sales and 1 dealer.

Surprisingly to some, the 2 private purchases were excellent deals. The bikes were completely immaculate, exactly as described and the dealer lied about every single aspect of the bike he was selling.

my current bike was bought after I called in at the local Honda dealership in Blackpool, just to fill in time while the kids were out with their dad. Saw my little Fazer sitting in the corner and fell in love, paid my deposit and picked it up less than a week later, I have been in love ever since Very Happy

My first 2 bikes I obtained off of a mate, my 3rd I obtained from scouring the local paper.

My current one I found in a bike dealership, the bit that pissed me off the most is scouring the bike trader for the XR at the time of buying it there were 05 plates up for £1,000 with sod all miles on them, when I paid £1,200 for a 3yr old with 16,000 on the clock Crying or Very sad

Thats life eh

Good to see the free ads and word of mouth for bikes not just the fancy auction sites. I sold my Scooby in a free ads paper and in a matter of days a bloke traveled 8 hours to come and collect it.

No one got a bike from a bloke down the pub Laughing

I was getting back onto the bike when a random bloke wandered over from a beer garden and tried to sell me some 'new' Alpinestar boots. He obviously didn't have them upon hos person so not sure where the hell they were, but do people honestly do this still?

GS 125 Dealer, Bought for the missus and for me to practise on.

ZX6R Bought from my brother at a really cheap rate quickly because he couldn't afford the R6 he'd set his heart on.

Bandit 600 saw on ebay locally,Watched, Didn't sell, Contacted seller for private sale after auction end, The better half to step up to, not a problem in 3 years.
