Having just got a nice 2003 R6 I want to get a different exhaust as the std one is somewhat over sized for what is a relatively small bike.

Does anyone have any recommendations of exhaust brands I should look at, that work well with the R6 but are also built well.

Or just brands to avoid

cheers

matt

p.s. if you have a piccy of your r6 with a certain exhaust that would be helpful to see if i like the look personally.

I think you would be okay with most well known exhaust brands, I would go for Arrow, but thats my personal choice.

I heard carbon fibre deteriorates over time, so i guess you could avoid those?

Someone correct me if im wrong. Thumbs Up

Here you go, Termignoni on the yellow R6, Akrapovic on the blue R6. Very Happy

Depends how much mahoney you want to spend. If I had the cash it would have to be a Race-fit exhaust.

I was following a bloke with carbon termis once and they sounded deep and burbly - not really rich and raspy because of the different acoustic properties of CF, but good nonetheless. for some reason, i feel that ovals suit the bike more than growlers?

I always thought that Carbon Fibre didn't corrode, although you are meant to check them for cracks every 5 years. especially on big twins like SP2's, mille's etc. the big exhaust pulses can wreck them.

I would go termi or akra if it was me. Arata would also be quite cool.

Carbon Fibre doesn’t crash very well. You’ll see steel or titanium on most club racing bikes for this reason.
Of course, if you’re bothered looks you’ll probably be getting a new can at that point anyway.
