What will need fixing/replacing?

I inherited a hornet in 2001 (1998 model) which i used for 6 months after passing my test. i quickly moved on to more sporty steeds but due to sentimental reasons i kept a hold of the hornet. So the bikes been under a cover in the garage for the last five years.

My brother has his test next month and is going to resurect the beast!

so far i know it will need a pair of tyres, a new battery and an oil change but anything else i should do??

Brakes will be very important. They might seem like they work fine at first, but be careful, if you use them hard and they decide to sieze, it's going to hurt.
Fuel in the carbs may have sat and turned a bit weird, maybe need flushing out. Usually fine though, perhaps chuck a bit of red X in there.

Chain and sproket can be tight-spotting, meaning it wont run freely around the cogs. Take a look over it.

As said about tyres might need replacing.
Check spark plugs to.

Thumbs Up
