Project dr400

Well i managed to pick up a shed of a dr400 for next to no money off a mate of my dads. The idea is to build a work horse bike on the cheap. and get it back together within the month.

My dad also had an sp370/dr400/ts125 hybrid thing sitting about so dug that out.

Got straight into dissmanteling it and discovering all the lovely snapped bolts seized and fucked bearings and lots of lovely things like the mouse nest in the airbox still being inhabited .

Got everything out and then was left with the swingingarm berings being seized to high mighty and took alot of persuaeding to get out

Got it all stripped and ready to start any welding painting and reassembely. I intend on fitting the ts125 front end which has a disk brake and should be a vast improvement on the drum.

I know the feeling the previous owner had it off so kicking it over was a nightmare probably didnt help the airbox had a mouse nest in it .

On another note i have another 3 spare engines for this bike one that is built to sp370 spec with new piston, barrel and rings and another with a top end other one just need a barrel .

Quick update frame stripped and bits welded as right hand foot peg mount had managed to rip out the frame mounting points. Found some lovely chunk of metal in the dr engine, so checked the spare sp engine it has a bent selector shaft . So gonna rebuild the dr engine its also low on compression so a good chance to get it in working order. Also had a fer problems with fitting the ts125 front end so had to hack a spare dr yoke for the stem and swap stems. Ill get photos up tommorow
