The weather was bloody awful on Sunday as I headed off up the M40 to my Folks about 150 miles away. Had a meeting yesterday near where they live so I pad the journey out over 2 days or so to make it bearable.

After taking a wrong turn and adding 10 miles onto the trip I got about 30 miles up the motorway before my hands were freezing cold, soaked wet through and both my boots sloshed inside with pints of water.

Stopped off just north of birmingham for a coffee and a moan to Mrs. K. (Who'd stopped me travelling up the day before-thus preventing me getting to Rivington Barn as a jolly on the Sunday) and I stood with my gloves on two of the hand dryers to force some of the water out and slightly warm them up. then the snow started and the temperature dropped again, the road spray meant visibility was terrible and the soggy glove did little to keep the visor clean.

5 and a half bloody hours later I arrived, de-kitted and chucked everything on to every spare radiator and warm place to dry out.

Monday morning? Weather was far better, just got soaked again 30 miles from home as the sky opened up and deluged me again.

Now I need to re-waterproof EVERYTHING as it didn't keep me dry, get some new boots, tires, brake pads, chain lube, visor or helmet and hope the weather stays ok.

mind you, the fog and mist this morning was a swine as well... Sad

And what was the worst bit of the trip? After pulling off the motorway, riding through town and relaxing now that I wasn't getting continually coated in road spray, A pair of 'peds tried overtaking me 500 yards from the destination (shows how knackered and not paying attention I was). Only heard them when the first came past me (between two rows of parked cars just before a blind bend) so I just blipped the throttle and made the 2nd guy drop back in behind. The first guy looked a bit worried (panicky glances in his mirrors) as I turned off at the next junction behind him. then he hit his right indicator, pulled into the middle of the road and slowed right down (to block me?) way in advance of the next junction to the right, but not before my turning on the left...

Evil or Very Mad

I'm not having a ped pass me.. Wink
