I passed my test on 16/10/07 and handed in my documents to the examiner on the day. He told me if I dont receive my licence in 3 weeks to ring the number on the back of my pass certificate.
Yesterday, I phone DVLA and ask them why its benn four weeks and still nothing has come through! DVLA put me on hold for 10mins and then come back on the phone and say 'I'm really sorry, theres a problem with your application, I need to pass you to a different department'.

5mins later
Someone else comes on the phone and starts asking me how old I am and what cc I took the test on? Also asks if I have my provisional photocard and counterpart? This is strange and I can only assume this means they havnt got it, otherwise they wouldnt ask me!
Anyway after a load of questions I ask 'Whats all this about? Whats the problem?'
She then tells me there is an investigation into my application, and she cant tell me anymore until next wednesday or thursday!
I then ask to speak to a supervisor that tells me the exact same thing.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has heard of this because I did everything right and I'm quite worried about it now.

Any help or info would be appriciated.
Cheers Chris

I wouldn`t hae thought it was anythin to do with you. More likely an internal investigation within the DSA/DVLA.

Wouldn`t worry about it, not that you seem to be anyway. Thumbs Up

All the best,

Richard

Does the examiner take care of sending the documents away these days then?

There was a postal strike over that period. It may be relevant.

Yes. It saves all the paperwork one has to fill in.

However, you are entitled to keep hold of it if like me, you needed it for a hire car or if you were going on holiday. You can then send it in yourself.

Well at least thats a positive step towards making things easier and straightforward for the 'customer'. Unfortunately it seems to have failed in this case though...

Try telling them you're 19 and you took the test on a 500. They're so confused they might send your license back with a full de restricted entitlement Cool
May as well ask them for car and hgv entitlement while you're at it Wink

They're such a bunch of w*nkers they probably would!

I wish they would just tell me what the problem was, but no, they cant say anything while they have an investigation going!!

Thats because they don't know anything, so have nothing they can tell you!

I swear they are getting worse...
