I was hoping some of the photography type people on here may be able to help me.

I was at a sporting event earlier in the year. I professional photographer was there taking pics of the competitions and selling them on to the family / friends. In his van he had a screen with the software that could enable him to move, zoom, etc. the photo as it would appear printed. I didn't get chance to talk to the guy as I was busy doing other things.

However, does anyone know what the software might be? I'm also thinking it may be a professional toy so is there anything cheaper / free that'll do the same job?

Thanks for reading. If you need any clarification of this please post and I'll do my best.

Thanks in anticipation Thumbs Up

I would guess Photoshop, it's pretty much industry standard when it comes to photography. Unless there's a higher end product I'm not aware of.

All the pro snappers I know use Photoshop.

You mean like the 'print' screen on GIMP image editor?

Yes, looked something like that, except more 'professional'.

Still looking for the original but I guess GIMP may suit my needs (I'll try it). Being GNU it's free so that suits me Very Happy

Just hope my friends don't think I'm now into kinky bondage Embarassed

It was not photoshop being used for the printing.

Thumbs Up

Sorry for the delay in reply.
No, nothing like those two.

From what I recall the left side of the screen was taken up with a frame in which the image was manipulated. The right side were the controls to tweak the image.

The customers would see in the left hand frame the image they wanted printed.

HTH Thumbs Up
