Bought a set from Halfords at the weekends, and put them on this evening. Along with a full tank of petrol, and filled up the 2-stroke oil. Checked all levels this evening, and its fine.

life savers everywhere Smile

cheers

Aye, good luck matey Very Happy

Remember to look over both shoulders (proper looks, not just waving your head from side-to-side) after your emergency stop, and then one last check before moving to the side of the road. Don't worry about stalling the bike on the emergency stop, but don't pull the clutch in until the very last minute.

GAH SHIT

failed for foot down in U turn. Really pissed off. I was doing contiunous circles in the car park before hand, nearly on full lock, and i just lost my balance a bit doing it in the test

Minors for "over signalling", like round parked cars, and road position when turning left at a junction (i was too far right)

god damn it. Now im gonna have to find a non M way route to NEC, or ride like 80miles on the motorway on Provisional Confused

Unlucky mate!
Though a guy I work with used to instruct the instructors and said that they technically can't fail you for a foot down, as it's not a legal requirement to be able to do a U-turn without using your feet. You could pedal the bike around and, so long as you did it safely, you should pass.
Did you get a 2nd chance?

0 lessons. I will book another one tomorrow. Don't wanna talk to the fuckers right now Razz

Yeah, I know whats coming next time, and that was the most expensive U turn of my life. Just gotta practise and practise them again and again. I could only just push the bike round which was a bit gay. Maybe I should have said roads too narrow Question

Apparently you're allowed "Dabs" on your U-turn so long as you show control. You can appeal AFAIK

Unlucky.

Its probably not worth it though... all the hassle that yor're put through and if you get the same examiner next time they will fuk you over.

It's hard to make yourself do it, but if you're about to go over, just apply more power.

Unlucky mate Sad ...but the best riders always fail the first time Wink

RE: U-turns...it all depends on how much compassion (yeah, I know that it's a human emotion Razz) the examiner has towards you, and basically, as a 17/18-year old doing his test for the 1st time, on a sports bike, well...Rolling Eyes...when I did my DAS, there was this old guy (great bloke) who actually got 2 attempts at the U-turn, but he still fluffed it up (did everything else perfectly though).

I really don't see why using your feet to balance during low-speed maneouvres is deemed as "unsafe" Confused

Better luck next time mate Very Happy

Bah, its not worth it. Its not as if it is dangerous to put my foot down. Does anyone know a DSA document with this on so I could quote it next time if it happened again? I know i should have applied power, but for some stupid reason I didnt.

Luke: Ring them, and i was offered on in less than 24hrs. Normal wait for a bike in Aldershot is 1 week which is v.v.good

Lessons? what are they?

I know know exaclty where to be on left turns, and about not indicating to go round parked cars?!

Everything else I did almost as per normal, other than the speed limit Rolling Eyes

I'm pissed off about the foot down thing.

I got a couple of minors for indicating right when going round parked cars?? Seems daft to me. Apparently its "over signalling", and my concentration was wasted doing signals which dont help other road users!

You should only signal if you actually cross the centre line I believe.
