My missus has asked me to sort her a digital camera out, she has vouchers for amazon for £100.

I think all she wants is a fairly simple camera, nothing to techinical and for the pictures to be of good quality. Preferably Sony as the memory cards of our phones is the the same.
I started on this page of cameras on Amazon, but im confused, there seems to be cameras with the same spec but slightly different in price.

From this page of cameras

Help? Confused

https://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000MVWPXC/30000148-21/?m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

I have that camera, cost me £130 a few weeks ago..... Shocked Laughing

Anyway, easy to use, alright for general pics, nowt too flash but a decent camera, decent quality.

The camera I got didnt come with a memory card, but the spare cash left from the £100, im sure you could get one. Cool

The Panasonic compacts are excellent little cameras.

The key component of a camera is the lens and they have Leica lenses.

The anti-shake also works well.

Thumbs Up

Agreed. A friend just bought one of these:

and it's a beauty. Really nice to use, the screen's a good size and very clear. It's a little out of your price range, but essentially the same camera as the Panasonic Lumix:

You can pick these up for about £120 I think. The only issue is that it might be a little bulky for your girlfriend. They're not the smallest of compact cameras because of the lens though the picture quality will more than make up for that Smile

Annabella, I have a Lumix which looks a bit smaller than the one in your piccie.

I also like the LCD screens on them - big and clear.

Linkage

VERY good quality pictures, Lovely LCD screen, lots of settings to play with, easy to use (I am able to do it lol) and nice to hold (once you get the hang of it. Thumbs Up

I recommend the Canon A560 Powershot or the Fuji Finepix A920 cos I have used them and proven them to be idiot proof. Laughing Cool Thumbs Up

Panasonic are good but the shutter speed can be a bit frustrating, but then you probably aren't after that sort of thing at this price.

Also come with Leica branded lenses so they should be up to good quality. My Panasonic works fine although it is higher up in the range.

Ive had a samsung digital a while ago though and had problems with it after about a year.
It wouldn't connect up to the pc to get the pics over.
Also had a samsung phone and it died in the arse.
Not saying theyre all shit but 2 from 2 in my books is a bad omen.
So I won't touch samsung again regardless of what it is Middle Finger
