A good conversion but not really worth the effort in my opinion.
The old 500 strokers arent really that powerful, the RG was 95bhp standard.
Dont get me wrong I love strokers but for a whole lot less effort than that took and a bit of money I could just slot a Honda RS250 engine into my NSR and get the same.
I just think it really is a pitty road going 500cc 2 stroke development wasnt continued as the equivalent V4 nsr 500 to my 250 would have been mental.
Maybe the manufacturers where too scared. ____________________ If you dont like the way that I ride.......Stop trying to keep up!!! |

my mate did that once, good bike, acelleration was great and perfect handling but there was 1 main downside. you had to trim the frame and make custom mounts to fit the engine as it had a taller top end, this means the frame had to be scooped slightly. the vibration of a 500 single killed the frame eventually.
Was a beast though
Cheers

stinkwheel Well I just had my hands up a pigs fanny. Which makes your concerns pale into insignificance. |
