Due to people asking me all the time I'm uploading a couple of pics of my simple home made chain oiler, I made it a few months ago but have been continuously improving the design to get a simple and reliable design.

To make this you'll need.

1, Small vitamin tub, like they sell at wilkos with multivitamins in.
2, A 20mm Compression gland (50p each ask at your local electrical wholesaler)
3, A length of homebrew pipe with tap (I think mine was a syphoning kit)
4, Some cable ties.

Once installed it is very effective, you simply turn on the tap when you get on your bike and turn it off when you park up. The oil delivery rate is determined by the pinhole in the end of the pipe, mine works out at about 1 drip every 5 seconds.

In order to control the flow of the oil I heated the end of the pipe over the gas cooker, squashed it together with some pliers and then simply made a TINY pinhole in the side to let the oil out at the correct speed.
The original design just had an open end on the pipe which allowed the oil to flow out far too quickly which ended up getting flung everywhere.

Works great and saves me having to spray my chain everyday like a chump.

you should try and get it to drip on to the inside of the chain... flicks off less and you clean the whole of the chain.

But looks like a good bodge
