A good conversion but not really worth the effort in my opinion.

The old 500 strokers arent really that powerful, the RG was 95bhp standard.

Dont get me wrong I love strokers but for a whole lot less effort than that took and a bit of money I could just slot a Honda RS250 engine into my NSR and get the same.

I just think it really is a pitty road going 500cc 2 stroke development wasnt continued as the equivalent V4 nsr 500 to my 250 would have been mental. Laughing

Maybe the manufacturers where too scared.

my mate did that once, good bike, acelleration was great and perfect handling but there was 1 main downside. you had to trim the frame and make custom mounts to fit the engine as it had a taller top end, this means the frame had to be scooped slightly. the vibration of a 500 single killed the frame eventually. Sad

Was a beast though Cool

Cheers
John
