my ns125 is dead!

hi all,
heres the story :
on the way to work yesterday, when at 50mph, bike loses all power!
pulled over to side of road, flicked tap onto reserve, started up again, excellent, i thought.
so today i remembered to get petrol, filled her up & away i went.
got onto dual carriageway, up to around 50, & again loses all power!
so, stranded at side of road, pissin rain & toothache to top it all off!
walked up into town,topped up mobile & foned recovery,(glad i took that out when i got insurance!)
bloke came, knows nothing about bikes & has a dodgy hip, so he cant use kick start!
so onto back of lorry & back to my house (he gave me the choice, home or a garage)
while im in house i hear a crash, bike has fallen over while recovery guy was unhooking straps!
1 smashed mirror & a bent gear lever!
he straitened gear lever up, best he could & took away the broken mirror.
glad i didnt have the proper mirrors on, just got universal type plastic mirrors on bars.
anyway back to bike, where do i start?
normally i would check for a spark while pressing starter button,
but this is a kick start, so whats the procedure?
anybody any ideas why it would die like that, so suddenly & so fatal?

any advice/suggestions welcome,

Get someone else to watch the spark as you kick it over.

Maybe it's over heating, check that you coolant is topped up.

Could be a partially blocked fuel line?
Gets enough to run at slower speeds, but faster speeds and it dies...

I have heard a bike that hasnt got petrol in the system can be a pig to start again once petrol is available again.
With a blocked fuel line it may be even harder?

[Kickstart]

Hi

If it starts up again now then could well be a blocked filter or blocked breather pipe.

Take the plug out, put it in the plug cap and hold it against the engine. With the plug out you should be able to use the kickstart easily with your hand.

hi all,
bike now alive & well!
turns out fuel line was trapped under tank!
as soon as i lifted tank, heard a glug , glug glug.
that was petrol going into in-line filter,
dunno how it got trapped?
anyway thanks for all the advice,
