Been looking at Honda CBR 400's on eBay and I'm trying to differentiate the NC23's and NC29's but some people don't list what theres is. Could anyone tell me which Reg the NC23's begin and end at as well as the NC29's? many thanks for any help in advance... Cool

According to https://www.vsource.org/VFR-RVF_files/Bcbr400rr-mi.htm the NC29s started in 1990, and https://www.vsource.org/VFR-RVF_files/Bcbr400r-rr-mi.htm says that the NC23s ended in 1989.

NC29 (gullarm's like Binge/alliamc/dom's) usually start about H reg and anything before that is very often an NC23.

You can tell the two apart by the swingarm design as well as fairings. The NC23 i believe uses an 18" rear as opposed to the more common 17"

rule of thumb <H reg is a 23

Correct - although to put a small spanner in the works my previous CBR400 was an NC23 and was an H reg. That's the year they changed over Thumbs Up

Hi

Registrations on imports can often be fairly random.

All the best

Quickest way to tell them apart is the tail unit.

NC23 - It's a single slope

NC29 - Comes out in 2 pointy things.

Seen Italian imports with registrations ~4 years newer than the bike could be.

Totally different frame and swinging arm are more of a give away to me Wink .

All the best

As Keith says. The frame is the easiest one to spot. The 23 has a conventional straight beam frame whereas I have no Idea what Honda where thinking with the 29's frame. Laughing
