Got a litre of it the other day, £5 from B&Q. Cleaned the chain and then put some on with a tooth brush, then ragged the excess off.

Chain looks nice and really clean. Can feel the difference too. No flick or mess.

Though I'd try it out after Joe told me he used it.

Top stuff I reckon Thumbs Up

S'good stuff. I had a guy come in to work (B+Q) who claimed to race regularly, and he said it was cheaper than having to buy proper chain lube. I didn't understand his point about frequency though, he seemed to be saying that he needed to lube after every couple runs of the track. Cheap for what it is though, reasonable quality lube, bout the same quality as plenty of other lubes, just people won't pay a lot for chainsaw oil Wink

Chain saw oil is designed for total loss. As in it wont stay on the chain like proper lube will as its thin and any contact with water will wash it off.. Its ok to use it in a scotoiler but to just use once a week its next to useless.

Chain saws have a constant feed of the oil to the chain so fling off is never a problem.

I use Holts anti fling spray on lube (mainly cause its all they had at halfords), seems ok but the rims still end up covered in it.

I think I paid £6 for the can of it which I thought weren't too bad.

Its been on for 2 days now, chain still looks brand new and I've done 100+ miles in about 30% dry and 70% pissing rain. Can also still feel the oil on the chain if I touch it with my fingers. Also it hasnt seem to have flicked off onto the wheel like old engine oil did when I tried that, many moons ago!

So far so good, so will see how it goes.

I've never had a lube thats kept the chain looking new and lubed for more than a week Sad

Yoko,

Interesting! I am thinking of experimenting, as you .... did you apply this to a new chain or a newly oiled chain?

Ref. https://nordicgroup.us/chain/

My addition : use an old chain cleaner (Park etc) or even buy a new one) and use the bath to apply the oil. Therefore, one to clean as normal, one to oil...... (so no cleaning of cleaning equipment!)
