Right, yet again i need more advice on my NSR. I had the exhaust off the other day to check if it was restricted (turns out it isn't via the exhaust atleast!) but when i did this i noticed the previous owner whom "rebuilt" the bike liked his silicon/black tape.

Basically what he had done was snapped the 'O' ring/gasket and glued it back together.

Well i'm not happy with the prospect of losing power so I figured i'd go replace the part.

My problem is i'm not quite sure what im looking for and where to look.

As far as i know you can get two types of gasket, copper and a normal one.

Has anybody got a link to where i can find a new one?

sorry for stupid questions Embarassed

duno if its any help but aparently Honda refer to it as a 'Spring' and therefor feel the price should reflect that of a 'spring'

when i got a quote for mine i think it came to around £23.00 Shocked my gasket or spring was still ok so i chose not to replace it Rolling Eyes

You just need a exhaust gasket. Cant remember the size I used - possibly 54mm (defined by the outside edge - not inside). Were indeed something like 99p each. I actually bought 3 or 4 different ones to get the optimum size.

I used these guys and the service was canny!

And now my exhaust, after peeling off loads of cursted silicon from around the engine, sounds great!

Maybe it's just because i hadnt heard it run in a while but for a two stroke it sounds really sweet and even the idle has a nice, almost deeper pitch to it Very Happy

thanks for the advice guys!
