Here is a picture of the VFR400 i`ve managed to buy this weekend, it`s not perfect but sounds sweet and smokefree, see what you think, it will be delivered next weekend.-Jockey.

I`m not sure about it being a bargain Craig, but i`m happy to get any work sorted out, it`s only got about 30,000 kms on it and as i said sounds really sweet. Nothing like your`s of course, probably never will be, but to be honest you`ve set the bar far too high for most of us. I`m paying £900 and it will be delivered to the door.-Jockey.

Sounds a fair price. Thumbs Up

I haven't set any level really - not for a bike anyway. My NC30 hardly gets used, so relatively speaking, it's more of a 'working scaled model' than a proper motorbike.

Have a look over at 400greybike if you have any difficulties with the lil v4.

Thanks for the info Craig, i`ll have a look tonight when i`ve got more time. Glad i seemed to get it a reasonable price, there are some about far too pricey, i stuck as close as i could to Parkers prices, although they only list two years and this one is earlier(1990).-Jockey.

Nice One Jockey Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

I think if I'd waited any longer I would have been getting my grey beard trapped in the front wheel Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Embarassed

PS. Was it the Honda RC 30 that had the same back end as yours with the single arm and white wheels,I used to drool over that bike.
I love those single arms, infact a mate just sold a 1200 bandit that he'd streetfightered and that had a vfr arm with a Ducati back wheel and a 4-2 exhaust coming out under the seat,Looked Incredible.
The 400's like yours just look so neat the way the pipes tuck away and then that one side is all open. Are you going to keep yours the same colours as it is now because it looks brill (I would) They also sound mega smooth and I thought they had there own distinctive sound. Let me know how you get on with it .
Take Care Mate!!

Yes, that is an RC30, don`t worry about your beard, i need a shave as well!! I see that you like the Simpsons, so do I, Burnsey is my favourite. I haven`t made my mind up about the paint scheme as yet, i really love the Red/White/Blue, never mind i suppose i`ll sort that out next year as i expect to have this bike for quite some years. I need to try it out this year and decide just where to go with it, i have loads of time to decide. A good person to speak to about this model is Craig`s 23, see his posts on the one he did, you`ll be blown away, it`s just as a factory bike should be only done by a person who decided to do it in his own way, what an end result, understated but absolutely mint and exactly to his spec. Hope you don`t mind my opinion Craig. Have a look Stevie. -Jockey.

Well, the bike arrived this afternoon and i`ve not had much spare time to do much really, what with washing the car and walking a very demanding BC.I did however remove the seat assy and noticed that i hadn`t been assembled correctly, very easy to fix. One of the footpeg extension bolts is stripped as well, should be quite straightforward to fix as well.Nextweeki`ll remove the other fairings and see what confronts me there. It`s been fitted sometime in the past with a djn-1181 stage 1 kit and was showing close to 60bhp, not bad really. I`ll just see how much spare time i have now to look at the bike. I`m toying with the idea of buying a hydraulic lift so i can work on it , anybody heard of any cheapish secondhand ones?-Jockey.

Second hand lift you say.

Clicky Laughing

Just search for hydraulic lift and there are a few to look at on ebay. You can get a brand new one for £300 with free delivery.

Well i`ve removed the fairings this afternoon and there`s nothing unusual to see, that`s a good sign. The bottom rad is clogged and will require further attention, i know from when i first saw the bike that it had been dropped on the left side, the top rad has a dent in it and the brackets are not quite what they should be, not a great problem. I`ve done a charging check and it checks out just as per spec (14.4 v at a constant 5,000 rpm) All in all i think this should be quite easy to set right for riding, i`ve other checks to do on the brakes etc before i even take it out but things are going nicely. I won`t ride a bike until i`ve checked out many things otherwise i`ll not be here to tell you about it !! Very Happy Thumbs Up
