Check your spark plug. Take it out of the engine and put it in the plug cap. Rest the metal part of the plug on the head of the engine and crank it over. If it's not sparking then you could have a dodgy coil, plug or cdi unit etc. I doubt it would be this but its the easiest thing to check.
Best thing to do is to tap the side of the carburettor with a piece of wood (so not to damage the carb); maybe the floats are stuck shut.
Also when you take out the plug have a look at the colour, if it's dry and biscuit brown then its been firing ok but that would also indicate that no fuel is getting through. If it's wet with fuel then you obviously have a spark problem, hence the test above.
Good luck ,

Ummm...
Maybe check your choke hasn't jammed open... Not sure though, I had an issue where to much air was getting in due to a couple of missing bolts attaching the carb to the cylinder, tiny gap but enough for it to cause problems. When ever I put the choke off it would cut out.
Perhaps in this case, if too much air is getting into the mixture, it won't start at all.
Good luck. ____________________ Didn't catch anything. |
