Hi all, I just bought a top box today, thanks 1samarg. Its a standard orion one, and I want to get the little padding bit you can get to stop pillions bitching at you for having a box in their back
I've looked places but you know how it is when you know exactly what you are looking for but can't find it due to exact wording, so if anyone knows the actual name/product of this I would be most grateful.

Why not just make one out of some foam and cover it in something. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

Fair point, I'll have a go at that tomorow. bit of ply then expanding foam then covered might do it. Hmm...

Always advise people not to lean on them, especally if they are on a quick release base..... Mine once flew off down the road..... Had someone been leaning on it, they would have too.
Now my top box is bolted down. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

I have had a look around but cant find one right now. Plenty for vespas and the like which have the bolts on the back so you could get one and measure it up to the box and drill the holes to fit.
You said you wanted to start getting your hands dirty
Funnily enough about half an hour after you left I planned a cheap way in which I would have made one.
Cut a 8" x 4" bit of plywood (almost everyone has some knocking around or knows someone who does).
Get some foam, (go down to the local dump and rip apart someones old sofa cushion) cut it to shape.
Drill four holes in the wood towards the edges of each side and put 10mm bolts through with washers. Measure and drill the top box and do a dummy run. Stick the bolts through the ply, use a washer and a bolt to fix it firmly to the wood. Leave as is for the moment and back to building the back rest.
Place the foam over the wood, glueing it in place would be best. Get some black fake leather cover off an old dining chair or foot stall from the dump, fit it over the whole pad so it overlaps on the wood nicely behind and staple down securely. Trim off the edges so it's a nice fit. Put two more washers over the nuts at the back of the wood (this will stop the nuts eating into the plastic box) and then fix to the pre drilled holes in the box.
Inside the box, one more washer on each bolt and then fixing nuts (preferably nylock would be best) and hey presto!
I reckon I could make one for about 4.00 ____________________ Check out our tackle shop on Facebook:
