Got anemail back from my insurers, the dispute is ongoing and obviously they don't want to back down.
The person dealing with my claim has said this....
"One thing that concerns me is the door was opened prior to you hitting it! I know this is very difficult but can you confirm any time frame between the door opening and you colliding with this"
Well the time frame from the door opening to impact was about half a second. Literally, door, bang...smash.
So do i just send that back, or do i include things like, the door is only around 2ft wide when fully open, if it was opened a time before impact then i could have swerved to avoid it.

Well the woman i'm relaying information to is not going to use anythig against me as she is going to be talking to the third party insurers.
I wanted to know whether or not to give a run down of distance/spedd/time. or just keep it plain and simple.
Edit:- i could also remind her that this person opened a car door without looking on the drivers side of the car. I really can't see the problem here as that is an offence right there. Filtering is not illigal if there are no markings. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

You should answer with:
"Yes I can confirm that from the time I saw the door open to the time I hit the door, I was able to count to 0.8seconds!"

Good point... how can i count half a second?
Doors width of a Accord is probably just over 2ft, so if it was opened some time before, i could still have my Ninja.
Hope they don't try it on here. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

Go Hetz's explaination,
if she kicks up any more fuss use the highway code pictures at the back which state thinking distance and thinking time, even at 30mph its a fair distance. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die.
