hi my bike starts and runs ok but has a lot of white smoke out of the exhaust .i think it may be the head gasket but got a price of 300 pound 2 fix.thought about doing it myself,could it be anything else before i take engine out.thanks karl.

gasket is most likely, but could be piston rings... either one you'll need a new head gasket.

Are you sure it is not just condensation.
In this weather you can get a lot of condensation coming the exhaust.
Check if the coolant level has gone down.

coolant level was ok but engine seemed 2 be using a lot of oil before it started smoking. ill take the head of soon and see whats what.thanks.
