PostPosted: 10:32 - 03 Oct 2007    Post subject: Cock sucker on the motorway Reply with quote

I had an eventful ride home from work yesterday, I had joined the motorway and after a mile or so some guy in a silver Almera decided he wanted to be on the same bit of road as me. Cue the horn from me and a bit of braking, I was a bit annoyed but he gave an apologetic wave almost straight away which got rid of most of my anger.
Another mile or so down the motorway I see a Black Focus moving along beside me overtaking and yet again someone else wanted the same bit of tarmac as me and he started moving into my lane WTF!! So I’m on the horn and revving the engine to get his attention and rather than move back out of MY lane he puts the boot down and continues his manoeuvre. Did the fucker acknowledge his bad driving? Did he even look in his rear view mirror to look at me? did he f**k. Still a little irate after the 1st guy doing it to me I’m now seething with anger and I knock it down 2 gears and tear after the prick.... I get along side his window and he's giving me the fingers!!! I couldn't believe it, the f**ker was refusing to accept that he was the one in the wrong, So their I am riding along side him screaming and making all sorts of hand gestures at him (sitting here now thinking about it I wonder what everyone else was thinking when they seen me going ballistic at him on the bike lol) and he didn't even flinch.
I wish he stayed on the motorway a bit longer because not long after he left it I started to wish I had taken off one of his mirrors.
You’d have thought I was constantly changing lanes and moving at pace overtaking everyone but when I joined the motorway I had made one lane change in about 5miles and that was to the middle lane, I was also moving with the flow of traffic.

no real point to the story, just thought i'd share another "wanker on the road" incident

Yeah on a motorway you kick someones wing mirror off, next thing your off balance swerving into the outside lane being run over by some little chav in his 1.4 seat ibiza with harnesses and dvd players Wink who's blasting along hoggin the outside lane at !!!!110mph!!! flat out.

As annoying as things like this are i would'nt chance it on a motorway.I save the kick to the wing mirror for the side streets when this sort of thing happens.

I happen to know a guy who keeps a small but handy piece of metal bar attached to the back of his bike which can be reached easily with a quick manouvre and is used for just such episodes.

He works in london so enough said Wink

Er . . . Is it me, or could both incidents be avoided by applying the brakes when you noticed the danger.

Yes they were in the wrong but why go after the second one? There was no need. To everyone else on the Motorway that witnessed you chasing him and giving him your opinion of his driving would be thinking your the one that has the attitude problem. Shocked

Whole situation could have been avoided IMO.https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v112/finglonga/Finglonga%20Inc/ne_nau.gif

Should've just given him the wanker sign Smile or do what I saw a random srad rider do whilst I was bimbling along on a motorway; a van overtook me (I was in the car) and pulled back in, then this srad rider comes up and pushes this van mirror in hard, gives a huge wanker sign and the finger and fucks off into the distance Laughing

With that sort of talk i may aswell never go out on the bike.
both of them were along side me, are you saying anytime a car is passing me on the motorway i should apply the brakes? what about the road users behind me who would not be expecting me to apply the brakes for no apparent reason? they'd just drive over the top of me.

yes officer, he just hit the brakes and their was nothing in front of him.

talk sense.

No, not if you go tearing after every motorist that makes a mistake, thats the wrong attitude.

You said they were pulling in to you. Braking is the safest option. Your not going to slam them on are you so there is no danger from the vehicles behind you. Its called defensive riding . . . you live longer using it.

You braked for the first one but the second you revved your engine?!?! Why? If you had slowed down let him in what's the problem with that? Your on a bike how hard is it going to be to pass him later. Instead you put yourself and others behind you in danger if he had hit you just to be 20 yards further down the road.

Rolling Eyes UmmmKaay.

No wonder ban biking petitions are springing up everywhere with that attitude to other road users.

You were as bad as the car driver if not worse for chasing after him.

Sorry but the term "mountain out of a mole hill" springs to mind.

With Urban racer, I'm constantly getting random drivers doing shit and then fail to accept they're in the wrong, as if because I'm on a small bike I'm automatically not expected to rise to it. Fuck 'em. I'd of gone after him, the last time I did that I nearly put some tossers window through, if he is willing to put my life or even vehicle in danger, a window is quite a cheap price to pay Imo.

As for Finglonga's point: No wonder ban biking petitions are springing up everywhere with that attitude to other road users. I see what your saying but most people are daft enough to not check mirrors/blindspots etc, and no one rider in a motorway incident is going to change the stereotype by not reacting, maybe more-so implying bikes will put up with it. I forgot the part where i also slowed down for this twat, i pulled the clutch and revved the engine.
let him in? i had no choice he was coming in anyway. you seem to be confused about the part where i said "moving along beside me" he was right beside me, if i looked 90 degree to my right i would have been making eye contact with him.

anyone behind me would have seen why i was going crazy at him

Be grateful he wasn't as vindictive as some, a quick flick of the steering wheel and your pretty much dead.

I used to keep old spark plugs in my pocket. If someone really got to me I would overtake them whereby one of the plugs would accidentally jump out of said pocket. Nowadays I just wave or give them the thumbs up, must confuse a fair few. Karma

I've always wondered what it would be like kicking/punching someones car at 70mph+ on motorways with cars zooming past you at god knows how fast, I mean just a slight miscalculation and you could be dead...meh.

I dont understand how people can cut people up when turning back into a lane?
You have just over taken them, so you have seen them, when you can see them fully in your rear view mirror signal back in for 2 or 3 flashes and in you go..
Isnt rocket science...

Cutting people up when pulling out i can understand, blind spot, etc etc, we dont have eyes in the back of our heads. Still shouldnt do it, bet we all have though...

Hand up as an "oops" so they can see if behind you, or just raise your hand off the steering wheel when they go past you

Smash mouth had it right, Why cant we be friends?? Smile

How about knocking on his window with "carbon knuckles" and gesturing to lower his window. Shout him "I've got your number plate and gonna report you for dangerous driving! I'm on hands free voice recognition, prepare to get pulled over by the police!"

Worked for me a few times. They usually sh!t & slow right down in case they do get pulled. Thumbs Up Result

New Highway Code tells drivers to check their blind spots and to look out for motorcycles. But there are still loads of ignoran pr!cks who will completely ignore that. Thumbs Down

Bit long winded for some at 60+MPH while flying down the motorway.

Works well on dual carriageway anyway.

The knock on the window with carbon knuckles usually wakes them up at least Wink
