Bye Bye Honda XR 125

Hey guys

I had a motorbike accident last night about 5:40 i was coming home from work.

i was driving up this road at 30mph roughly and ahead there was this left turning where this car was waiting to pull out (i was going straight) he was going to pull out but he put his foot on the break sharply so i thought he had seen me so i kept on going then the next minute he pulls goin the way i jus came from , i pulled my breaks my back wheel locks and my bike is slidin upright sideways towards his front right wing of his car , i came off and hit my head quite hard on the floor next minute i know im on the side of the road with 3 first aiders who were pedestrians heh , the guy got out of his car and said im really sorry it was my fault , the police got his statement admitting it was his thought and a witness admitted it , it was his fault aswell,the ambulance took me to hospital had me checked over.

my friends dad went to look at the bike last night after the accident and he said the bike is a write off the frame was bent and all.

my injuries are my spine feels very stiff and my head hurts a little.

what a night, and people say bikers are the cause of accidents..heh

thats why most of the adverts to do with motorcylce accidents are aimed at drivers.

the one on the radios about did you really look are very powerful.

Honda XR's are XRs in name only. Mine was written in a 15 - 20 mph crash, the frames aren't all that strong.

At least he admitted fault straight away so hopefully your claim should go through smoothly.

You broke two of the most important rules of biking, and you paid for it. Don't ever, EVER, EVER, assume a driver has seen you; and always keep a healthy layer of distance between you and everything. I'm not saying this was your fault, I am saying you could have avoided the whole situation by thinking ahead. The best you can do now is turn it into a learning experience.

I disagree Ravo, I car rolling forward then slamming on, tends to indicate they have seen you. And considering the road conditions we have had recently I think any panic braking would cause them to drop the bike. Thumbs Down

Unlucky mate, at least they admitted to it.

I do agree that you should presume anything about car drivers, but you can't blame him for continuing on...

And in your post you said you don't blame him.

Gah bad evening sorry, sorry about bad karma shall rate this post and another to make up for it. Just you saying he has paid for it seemed a bit harsh.

I never said it wasn't harsh. To the contrary, he made one pretty small mistake and got hospitalized. He did pay for that small mistake, and paid pretty bad from the description.

That's one of those things you have to accept when you ride. Mistakes hurt. Even the slightest misjudgement can cause you pain like you never believed. It's not right, it's not fair, and it's not just. But that's the way it is regardless.

Get well soon anyway, Jadc. Weld a big ass plow with spikes on your forks so if it happens again you can scare the cager to the point of pissing themself.

as far as i knew it there was no other cars coming the other way but i supose he thought i was further away then atisipated , my spine from neck down wards is very stiff and is stopping me from doing things heh , got bruises other places aswell but im going to claim compensation which ive never done before , are they normally good if any one knows?
