I’ve spoken to my boss about my plans for next year.
When I finish college in March I’m going to be going travelling for two months.
My boss doesn’t really have a problem with this, I’d only be gone about two months and then come back and continue work.
All he said was that he’d like something in writing.

I’m not really sure how to lay this letter out, what I need to say exactly.
How do I begin this type of letter?

Thanks Thumbs Up

Hey.

Something like:

Dear sir (or his name depending on how paly you are)

As requested, I am writing this to inform you of my plans for when I finish up at College in March 2008. I'd be grateful if you could look over the rough itinery below, if you have any questions or queries don't hesitate to get in touch.

*Insert details here.*

As discussed I would like to be able to continue working for *company name* on my return, if for some reason the itinery above causes problems, again; don't hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks again for being flexible and allowing me the opportunity to travel a little, hopefully I'll be able to use the experience on my return to the company's advantage.

Yours etc etc etc.

Something like that maybe.

Thumbs Up

Would the itinery have to include just dates from and to? or details on the different locations?

Yo boss man,

I'm outta here on xth March and I might return sometime in May if I can be bothered. Since we've talked about it already I'm only writing this letter so that my co-workers think that I'm doing something productive. You probably won't need to get anyone to cover for me since I've been getting away with doing fuck all since 2003 and no one's noticed yet.

Peace out,

Killa.

Wink
