What is it with car drivers these days?
I drive a bus through the day and one particular hill I have to travel up reduces the speed down to approximately 30mph, it's that steep, and thats even with a run up
It is a narrow (40MPH restriction with camera) B road section with barely enough room to get a car and 7.5 tonne lorry along side each other.
For the second week in a row I have noticed cars come roaring up my arse (and I mean roaring) and then banging on the anchors at the very last second and getting so close up the back that I lose sight of them in the mirrors.
I ask you, whats the bloody point? They cant get past and I cant go any faster so do they think they can bully me into pushing the throttle down any harder than it will already go? It's already on the floor!
Bikes I can understand, they have the power and agility to pull off the manouvre but a car I very much doubt it unless they 'used the force'
So why do it? Can anyone tell me. ____________________ Check out our tackle shop on Facebook:

Because car drivers are bullies.
I get really paranoid when there is a taxi driver behind me. I can only go 30mph but there was this transit van right up my arse.
My friend said I should just slam my brakes on and get an insurance payout. It's going to be a temptation when I want to get rid of my scooter. |

I've said this story a million times.
Me and a mate were overtook by this tosser taxi driver, we were on a dual carrigeway and he come past, must have been doing at least 100mph. So when it came to traffic lights, he went one side of him and i went the other and got infront of him, (Now on a main road) we did 10mph and slowed down to 5mph, everytime he tried to overtake we just pulled out to the other side of the road so he couldnt, it really pissed him off, bibbing his horn and the lot...

Sorry, maybe you haven't explained that properly, but from what you've written, somebody overtook you at fairly reasonable speeds for a dual carriageway, and then you went completely out of your way to wind them up and delay their journey, presumably because they were inconsiderate enough to be speeding in a car not on a bike?
Makes you seem like a bit of a wanker if I'm being honest. ____________________ McGee - "When I go to the mall and see all the high school girls, I have to have DO NOT TOUCH THE GIRLS written on my hand. Every time I go to grope I see it and stop."

Secondly, 100mph wouldn't be accepted on a motorway, let along a dual carrigeway.
Thirdly, i wouldn'd mind joining the police force in my later life, but until then there is nothing i can do to stop people speeding or anything.
So maybe considering other people's lives by this lunatic in a fucking skoda, it was best to slow him down. |
How many times have you driven a modern saloon car at over 100 miles per hour on the road exactly?
A huge wealth of experience, or have you based the above on what you imagine to be true?
In all honesty, you, a learner, have decided to take action against a professional driver, because you don't approve of his actions, despite the fact that pretty much anyone with any common sense would have to accept that he knows better than you.
Also, the suggestion that you took action against him because he's a taxi driver, and they annoy you is ridiculously stupid. They're individuals, you cannot judge them all, just as you cannot lump all car drivers together, or indeed all bikers. ____________________ McGee - "When I go to the mall and see all the high school girls, I have to have DO NOT TOUCH THE GIRLS written on my hand. I had some cunt today in a range rover
when i was coming out of maccys, turning left i spot a gap i move off only for some cunt in a range rover not to look and then start moving off from the dirt path next to the exit road from maccys (after me i might add) then stop in the middle of the road (so i stare) and drive around. When the cunt comes speeding up behind me and starts flashing his main beam for him being in the wrong
picture added. at the roundabout we went a different ways the cunt
Just because he has a 40k car doesn't mean he can bully other road users.
And then on the way home from college i get some other cunt in a 4x4 right up my arse only about 3 ft away it was a 30 road (double lane) and i must have been doing a bit above that. So i go into the slower lane when i finished overtaking a slower car and give him the stare as he goes past and hes go one hand on the wheel and the other one up by his head (guess mobile).
stare= wtf you doing look
and yes i do use it alot from the safety of my helmet.

| MoshizZ wrote: | So what you guys are saying is:
Doing 100mph is acceptable if you and your car are capable of doing the speed? |
Partly the above two, but the most important factor are the road conditions. Not just the weather, but the visibility on the road, whether there are blind corners, traffic density and patterns, where the nearest junction is, and many others.
Depending on all of the above, yes, absolutely I would say it can be perfectly safe to drive at 100 miles per hour, and indeed much faster.
| MoshizZ wrote: | Then can speed camera's decide who is a good driver or not? |
No, very definitely they can't, and this is why they're so wildly unpopular, and i disapprove of them as much as I do with your ridiculous actions, they do not take into account any of the above, merely the speed limit on the road. This speed limit will be based upon extremes, for example the 70mph limit in force on most dual carriageways and motorways has been in force for a long (can't remember how long) time, and when it was introduced, it was what was deemed to be safe for the cars of the time, and as I'm sure you'll realise, the stopping ability, and safety aspects of cars have moved on a lot since then, probably if the speed limit had moved with them, it would be around 100 mph now anyway...
Essentially, in a confused way, I'm saying speed cameras cannot use their discretion, which is important in deciding whether or not something is safe, rather than illegal.
| MoshizZ wrote: | Would Lewis Hamilton be allowed to drive his F1 car at 190mph on a dual carrigeway? I mean, both him and his car are capable of doing so, so is their anything wrong with that? |
You're being delibrately awkward here, but again, I'd stand by my guns, and say that yes, if conditions allowed, I wouldn't have any issues with him doing this, although I can't think of many places in which he would be able to acheive this in a safe manner, at least in the U.K. ____________________ McGee - "When I go to the mall and see all the high school girls, I have to have DO NOT TOUCH THE GIRLS written on my hand. Based upon your opinion, which I feel I've already established, is based upon much less experience than the driver himself.
| MoshizZ wrote: | The reason we both hate taxi drivers is... |
Oh dear...

Perhaps the cost of living is higher where you are? I know that's the case down here, so I accept that they're making a living.
| MoshizZ wrote: | Not one of them is white |
And this is an issue because?
| MoshizZ wrote: | Not one of them can speak the english language |
They obviously speak it well enough to get you to your destination, pass their driving tests etc.
| MoshizZ wrote: | Not one of them know's what a vacum is... |
Perhaps they do, but oiks like yourself continually cannot handle their drink, and throw up in the back of their cabs, no matter how clean they were at the start of the shift. This could also explain their increased prices.
| MoshizZ wrote: | And if you and your car are capable and you get done by a speed camera doing 100mph on a 60mph dual carrigeway, then go to court and claim 'But me and my car were capable of doing the speed' it wouldnt hold out at all... |
Of course not. One of the things you have to accept whilst speeding, are the possible legal consequences, and that the authorities will not be impressed by your actions. What is not expected is the judgement and the actions of a jumped up 16 year-old, with naff all road experience, who's made a decision that not only does he disapprove, he's going to go out of his way to make his judgement known by causing you inconvenience.
Honestly, grow up. ____________________ McGee - "When I go to the mall and see all the high school girls, I have to have DO NOT TOUCH THE GIRLS written on my hand. Every time I go to grope I see it and stop."

yes i know ive just pushed my way to the front and you may not like bikes being able to do it, but still what a cunt, its not as if he could go anywhere.
Didnt do anything apart from calling him a wanker, i can at least understand why hes pissed off... ____________________ follow my racing season

Well, I really hate people like MoshizZ. You are not the police, it is not your job to enforce the speed limits on the road.
The police would NOT pull someone doing 90-100mph on the motorway or a major dual carriageway if traffic was flowing smoothly at that speed (and it does at times).
There is someone with the same attitude as you at the front of every motorway tailback in the country sitting in the overtaking lane doing exactly 70mph because "That's the speed limit, I'm doing 70mph so nobody shoud be overtaking me anyway.".
Well I've got news for you pal. People like that are fucking dangerous. One day they'll cause a pile-up due to the concertina effect of motorway traffic. They will be pootling along at their "safe" 70mph totally oblivious of the carnage unfolding behind them. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |
